Holistic Integrated Creative Art Therapy

Sessions now available to book.

Holistic integrated creative art therapy is generally used as a treatment for something – usually

as a way to improve one’s emotional state or mental well-being. Expressive arts therapy doesn’t

have to be used only as a treatment though. It can be used to relieve stress or tension, or it can be

used as a mode of self-discovery. Many people can stand to use some sort of creative outlet. It is

based on the belief that the creative process involved in artistic self-expression helps people to resolve

conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behaviour, reduce stress, increase self-esteem

and self-awareness, and achieve insight. This is often used in addition to traditional therapies and medical assistance.

As someone who has suffered depression and anxiety throughout my life, I personally have an understanding of how art really can sooth the soul. It is a great form of meditation particularly for those who find other forms of mediation are just not for them. Take it from someone who endures anxiety and at times couldn’t possible create as it just wouldn’t be good enough. Art Therapy is not about creating a masterpiece; it is about listening to your inner thoughts, letting go, and finding balance but using a creative tool to help you on this journey.

With four children of my own, I’m passionate about working with children. Children experience life stresses too - from NAPLAN and VCE, to socialising, hormones, school life, home life and everything in between. Holistic Integrated Creative Art therapy is a tool that can help to guide them through the stormy waters of life and float confidently into adult hood.

I studied the MBEd Diploma of Holistic Integrated Creative Art Therapy (HICAT) with Mind Body Education Pty Ltd & The Wholistic Health College.
